Legal & Compliance Summary for Clinics
Effective Purpose
Mursario is a voice AI assistant designed to support administrative communication for appointment-driven clinics. It helps manage calls, scheduling, confirmations, and general front-desk workflows so staff can focus on patient care.
1. Scope of Service
Mursario is limited strictly to non-clinical, administrative functions, including:
- Answering incoming phone calls
- Providing clinic hours and location information
- Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments
- Confirming appointments and sending reminders
- Routing calls to human staff when required
Mursario does not:
- Provide medical advice
- Perform diagnosis or triage
- Interpret symptoms
- Make clinical decisions
- Replace licensed medical professionals
2. Medical Disclaimer
Mursario does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Patients are clearly informed (via voice and/or system configuration) that:
- The service is administrative only
- Medical questions must be addressed by clinic staff
- Emergencies should be directed to emergency services (e.g. 911)
3. Emergency Handling
Mursario is not intended for emergency situations.
If a caller indicates an emergency:
- The system can be configured to immediately route the call to staff or
- Prompt the caller to contact emergency services
Final responsibility for emergency protocols remains with the clinic.
4. Data Handling & Privacy
Mursario is designed with privacy and security awareness appropriate for healthcare environments.
- Handles only the minimum data necessary for administrative tasks
- Does not diagnose or store clinical decision data
- Call recordings and logs (if enabled) are used for quality and operational purposes
- Access controls and data retention policies are configurable
Clinics remain the data controller for patient information handled through Mursario.
5. HIPAA & Compliance Positioning
Mursario is positioned as an administrative support system, similar to a virtual receptionist.
- It does not function as a clinical system
- It does not independently create or modify medical records
- Clinics are responsible for ensuring proper configuration and internal compliance policies
If required, additional safeguards (such as limited PHI handling or restricted workflows) can be implemented.
6. Responsibility & Oversight
Clinics retain full responsibility for:
- Clinical care and decision-making
- Staff supervision
- Emergency procedures
- Accuracy of scheduling rules and clinic information provided to Mursario
Mursario acts as an operational assistant, not a medical authority.
7. Intended Use Statement
Mursario is intended to:
Improve administrative efficiency, reduce missed calls, and lower no-show rates – without interfering in medical care.
